The Product team identifies the most meaningful customer problems to solve and opportunities to tackle, and then works collaboratively across business functions to identify, test, and launch the right solutions against those priorities—ultimately making it easier for our customers to find, attain, and use our amazing content.
Who You Are:

    • We are seeking an experienced principal SEO to manage the team and execution of initiatives across one of our global brands. The ideal candidate will have extensive formal work experience in SEO, they have devised and led sophisticated projects and are able to work independently and part of a team to achieve revenue goals. This role will focus on leading the implementation of the SEO strategy for their assigned brand whilst guiding their team in implementation tasks, analysis and ensuring effective outcomes aligned with the commercial goals. The role will require an individual who is able to effectively collaborate with technology, product, data science, analytics and other key team members. You will be proficient in stakeholder management.
    • Responsible for the implementation of SEO strategy for a brand and its associated websites in conjunction with the SEO team members assigned to that brand.
    • Responsible for devising tasks for their areas of responsibility based on the SEO strategy.
    • Ensuring that effective prioritization occurs, based on frameworks which drive commercial value.
    • Responsible for outcome of tasks delivered by their team.
    • Responsible for reporting on the impact of the work to the Head of SEO and company leadership.
    • Responsible for reporting on areas of responsibility to SEO team and wider teams as required.
    • Responsible for building a culture of testing and iterating.
    • Responsible for managing (or mentoring) more SEO team members.
Your Next Challenge:

    • Competitor analysis – Regularly carry out competitor and SERP analysis, alerting other members of the ecommerce team to new competitors, SERP features and areas for growth.
    • Content and keywords – Systematically carry out keyword research and present relevant growth opportunities. Clustering keywords by topic and performing keyword gap analysis to create robust and revenue generating recommendations.
    • Technical audit – You will carry out in-depth audits of the websites using several tools and your own knowledge of website technology such as JavaScript, HTML and servers. You will prioritize and brief in technical changes to relevant stakeholders, whilst determining the best methods of analyzing and reporting on their impact.
    • Data – You will identify, analyze and remedy any traffic, impressions, revenue and rankings drops for your brand. You will make recommendations from this data that will lead to maintaining or growing revenue.
    • On-page – You will look for programmatic ways to fully optimize pages to increase visibility, CTR and revenue.
    • Backlinks – You will proactively devise campaigns to yield high traffic and ranking growth with assistance from the in-house PR resource.
    • Experimentation – You will design programmes of insightful experiments in line with the wider SEO strategy, designed to significantly impact revenue growth.
    • Mentoring – you will guide the SEOs within your team in prioritizing work that will be most effective in achieving goals.
What You’ll Need:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Maths, Business or related field.
    • Experience of performing SEO for international enterprise websites is critical. Experience of SEO for ecommerce, marketplace or affiliate websites is desirable.
    • In-depth specialism in technical SEO is desirable, but a candidate with less-strong technical SEO experience will be considered as long as they demonstrate strategic expertise.
    • Experience of identifying where technical implementations such as JavaScript rendering and faceted navigation are affecting SEO, and collaborating with development teams to find pragmatic solutions
    • Strong mentoring and coaching skills.
    • Proficient in using SEO tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, and similar platforms.
    • Excellent project management skills with the ability to meet tight deliverables.
    • You are comfortable manipulating large datasets and can use data to support your decision making.
    • Excellent ability to partner with marketing, usability, program management, technology and other teams to affect on-site and off-site impact.
    • Experience with international websites desirable.
    • Splunk, Omniture or Google Analytics experience, preferred.
    • Ability to create meaningful business reports and tell stories with data.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
    • Excellent writing skills.
