About Us: Leadership Academy of Utah (LAU) is an online charter school serving students across the state of Utah. LAU offices are located in Clearfield, Utah. This position does not require you to live in proximity to the posted location, many of our team members enjoy working remotely from various locations.
About the Position: This is a part-time remote position. Position begins September 2025. Days are flexible, Monday – Friday during the academic year. Up to 4-6 hours per week, between 8am and 2:30pm Mountain Time (Utah) as scheduled with the supervisor and students. Must be able to pass a background check.
Provide individualized or small group instruction in English language development. Create a welcoming and inclusive environment that supports linguistic diversity. Monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed
Maintain active communication with educators and assist in curriculum adjustment for ELL students who are struggling in general education classrooms
Maintain confidential data files and follow all ethical standards regarding educational information.
Provide quarterly progress reports for parents on their ELL student’s progress
Other Duties as Assigned, including attending weekly meetings.
Minimum Qualifications

    • 2 years of post-high school education (associate’s degree) or higher
    • Prior experience working with students and in a virtual classroom setting is a plus
    • Organizational and time management skills
    • Ability to work with computer programs like Zoom, Canvas, Ellie, Google Suite, etc.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills
    • Ability to implement ELP goals
    • Ability to differentiate instruction for varying ability levels
    • Ability to collaborate and contribute to a supportive team culture
Preferred Qualifications

    • Teaching English as a Second Language Endorsement (TESOL) endorsement preferred, but not required
Compensation and Benefits

    • $ 18.65/hour
    • Up to 4-6 hours per week, between 8am and 2:30pm Mountain Time as scheduled with supervisor and students
