We are looking for a copywriter to draft our car listings, ads, and blog posts with style and humor. The writer will create short summaries describing our cars, which must achieve two things: (1) clearly explain the vehicles and their features, and present compelling imagery of what the customer experience will be; (2) they must be entertaining to read and free of marketing clichés. Copywriters inject creative, humorous quips that make reading car listings a delight! Listings will include informative selling points that range from the straightforward to the whimsical, shooting for vivid description rooted in complete transparency and embellished with well-crafted absurdities.
Experience is a plus, but not necessarily required if you have compelling samples. We’ll work with anyone who can write succinctly, persuasively, and intelligently. Shift writers are held not only to a high quality standard, but must also show a willingness and ability to generate a high volume of copy on a daily basis – we are growing rapidly!
Responsibilities:
Write short, snappy descriptions of cars that are in line with the Shift voice and tone
Aid with the copy on any Shift ads / marketing materials
Draft blog posts
Requirements:
Solid writing experience – Groupon copywriting (or the like) are particularly encouraged to apply
Passion, enthusiasm, and love of cars is a plus, but not required
A sharp and witty sense of humor that shines through in writing
A desire to be involved with an entrepreneurial company
Talent, plain and simple
Bachelor’s degree – Journalism or English preferred, but not required
