The Vice President of Commercial Strategy at Restaurant365 will be responsible for driving the commercialization of research and development (R&D) initiatives, ensuring that new products and innovations align with market needs and business objectives. Reporting to the Chief Product Officer (CPO) or SVP of R&D, this strategic leader will bridge the gap between technical innovation and market execution by developing go-to-market strategies, pricing models, and business cases for emerging products.
This role requires a deep understanding of the restaurant technology landscape, the ability to translate complex R&D initiatives into viable commercial offerings, and expertise in market positioning, competitive analysis, and revenue growth strategies.
How you’ll add value:

    • Commercial Strategy & Market Positioning: Develop and implement a comprehensive commercial strategy for R&D-driven innovations, ensuring alignment with company objectives and market demand; conduct market analysis, customer research, and competitive intelligence to identify opportunities for commercialization; define and refine go-to-market strategies, including pricing, packaging, and value propositions for new products and features; ensure that R&D investments align with the company’s growth strategy, revenue goals, and customer needs.
    • Go-to-Market Execution: Partner with Product Management, Marketing, and Sales teams to define the launch strategy and execution plan for new innovations; establish product positioning and messaging to effectively communicate the value of R&D initiatives to internal and external stakeholders; lead cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of new solutions into the existing product portfolio; drive sales enablement efforts, equipping sales and customer success teams with the necessary knowledge and tools to position and sell new innovations.
    • Strategic Partnerships & Business Development: Identify and develop strategic partnerships, alliances, and industry collaborations to enhance the commercial viability of R&D initiatives; explore opportunities for new revenue streams, including licensing, integrations, and ecosystem partnerships; collaborate with external stakeholders, including customers, industry experts, and investors, to validate and refine product-market fit.
    • Performance Measurement & Continuous Improvement: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of commercialized R&D initiatives; use data-driven insights to iterate on pricing models, market strategies, and product offerings; establish a feedback loop with customers and internal teams to ensure continuous refinement and improvement of new solutions.
What you’ll need to be successful in this role:

    • Experience: 12+ years of experience in commercial strategy, product strategy, or go-to-market leadership, preferably in a SaaS or technology-driven environment; proven track record of bringing innovative technology products to market and driving commercial success; experience in the restaurant, hospitality, or enterprise software industry is highly desirable; strong background in working with R&D teams and translating technical innovations into business opportunities.
    • Skills & Competencies; strategic thinker with a strong commercial mindset and the ability to align R&D efforts with market demand; excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas in a compelling way; strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills; experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders across the organization.
    • Technical & Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of SaaS business models, pricing strategies, and go-to-market execution; familiarity with emerging technologies and trends in the restaurant or hospitality industry; experience working with AI, automation, or data analytics solutions is a plus.

    • This position has a salary range of $245,000 – $280,000 / year. The above range represents the expected salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic location.
