Scholar Rock is a biopharmaceutical company dedicated to discovering, developing, and delivering therapies that can significantly improve the lives of people with serious diseases that currently lack effective treatment options. As a global leader in understanding the transforming growth factor beta (TGFβ) superfamily of cell proteins—and named after the resemblance of scholar rocks to protein structures—the clinical-stage company focuses on creating innovative treatments driven by fundamental protein growth factor biology. Over the past decade, it has built a pipeline with the potential to transform care for neuromuscular diseases, cardiometabolic conditions, cancer, and other disorders where growth factor–targeted therapies can make a major impact.

Scholar Rock is the only company to demonstrate clinical proof of concept for a muscle-targeted therapy in spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). Its commitment to pioneering fundamentally new treatment approaches is supported by a proprietary platform that produces highly selective monoclonal antibodies designed to modulate protein growth factors. By applying advanced scientific approaches to diseases that have historically been underserved by traditional treatments, Scholar Rock strives to create new possibilities for patients.
