We are looking for an experienced Azure Cloud Engineer to migrate and modernize applications for the cloud. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Azure Cloud, Terraform (Enterprise), containers (Docker), Kubernetes (AKS), CI/CD using GitHub Actions, and Python scripting. Strong communication skills are required to effectively work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders throughout migration and modernization projects.
**Key Responsibilities:**
– Lead and execute the migration and modernization of applications to Azure Cloud using containerization and re-platforming.
– Re-platform, optimize, and manage containerized applications with Docker, and orchestrate them using Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
– Build and maintain reliable CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions to support smooth migration, deployment, and release processes.
– Automate infrastructure and application deployments to ensure consistent, dependable, and scalable cloud environments.
– Write Python scripts to support migration automation, integrations, and related tooling.
– Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful migration, modernization, and adoption of cloud solutions.
– Establish and implement DevOps, security, and migration best practices, aligned with the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
– Deploy infrastructure using Terraform (including IAM, networking, security, and related components).
**Knowledge:**
– DevOps baseline coding
– Scripting/programming languages, configuration management, and container fundamentals (100-level or above)
– Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment
– Version control systems (Git-based workflows)
– Understanding of commit/branch/merge/review processes
– Familiarity with pre- and post-hooks
– Design and implementation of branching strategies (e.g., Git Flow, GitHub Flow)
– Design and implementation of team collaboration workflows (access control, code review/approval, and integration with other CI tools)
– Artifact repository experience
– Familiarity with at least one popular artifact repository or anti-factory management tool
– CI/CD tools and CI services (VCS, artifact repo, build, release)
– Design and implementation of CI/CD pipelines
– Working knowledge of Linux or Windows operating systems
– Cloud skills baseline, including automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
– Using orchestration tools to organize IaC code and manage configurations
– CI/CD implementation for building and deploying infrastructure or applications
– Designing and implementing CI/CD best practices
– Landing Zone (multi-account framework)
– Identity and Access Management (IAM)
– Security
– Networking and compute (VMs, container platforms, functions)
– Virtual machine workloads
– Implementing serverless solutions for operational needs
– Data storage and databases
– Configuration management and secret management
– Monitoring and logging

**Experience:**
– 5–13 years of experience in the required role.
**Required Skills and Experience:**
– Expert proficiency in migrating and modernizing applications to Microsoft Azure Cloud services.
– Strong Terraform (Enterprise) expertise for infrastructure automation.
– Proven experience with container technologies (Docker) and orchestration platforms (AKS).
– Extensive hands-on experience with GitHub Actions and CI/CD pipeline development for cloud migration and modernization.
– Strong Python scripting skills for automation and tooling.
– In-depth understanding of DevOps practices and the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
– Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
– Demonstrated experience implementing logging, monitoring, backups, and disaster recovery solutions in cloud environments.
