betaworks is looking for an experienced NodeJS to undertake an adventure with a creative team building new realities in social messaging apps. The right person should get excited about new technology, mobile apps, and working on a yet-to-be-released product currently in incubation as part of our Hacker in Residence program.

The best application will:

• be a highly productive problem-solver

• be both data-driven and creative

• have 2-4 years experience with NodeJS, MongoDB, or similar

• able to scale an app from 1 to hundreds of thousands of users

• developed mobile APIs with authentication

• capable of handling API versioning and data management

• comfortable doing basic front-end development & deployment strategies

• enjoys writing spec tests for everything

• have good, clear communication skills

Bonus points for those who:

• have made their own projects in the past

• have done quality assurance testing

• are opinionated and vocal

• enjoy the intersection of art and technology

• knowledge of AWS Lambda and other AWS services

You will play an integral role in the product team, and will report directly to the project lead. This will be a 3 month contractor position with potential to become full-time employment. Preference for those in NYC, however we are open to remote work for outstanding candidates.
