The PbS Learning Institute, a national non-profit juvenile justice organization, is currently seeking a . NET Web Developer with high-level of expertise in Microsoft web technology stack and related client-server technologies. As a . NET Web Developer, you will be building and expanding upon our existing survey and reporting interfaces as well as supporting juvenile agencies performing data integrations using our JSON API. The right candidate will possess a broad skillset, be willing to investigate new technologies and platforms, and be up to date on standards and best practices for coding, delivery and optimization.

PbS is a small dynamic organization dedicated to treating all youths in custody as one of our own. We are celebrating 20 years of working across the country to improve the conditions, quality of life and services in youth confinement facilities and programs. PbS’ technology is the key to national data collection and reporting, research and analysis and communications with participants in 33 states. The ideal candidate will share our passion for non-profit work and/or improving the conditions, quality of life and services for youths in custody.

Candidates must be local and able to work out of our Braintree, MA office. Telecommuting is possible but you must still be able to work out of our Braintree office at times. Hours are flexible and we are open to considering both full-time and part-time applicants. This is a new position and available immediately.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a small team to gather requirements and accurately estimate time and effort for web development projects and tasks

  • Articulately communicate technical concepts and ideas to colleagues and stakeholders with varying degrees of technical or digital knowledge

  • Work independently to develop high performance, high quality, scalable and easy-to-maintain code

  • Troubleshoot and test applications and pages across browsers and platforms to insure maximum coverage and consistency

  • Use and improve established software development frameworks, standards and processes while working on products
