We are a largely virtual company with major efforts in Austin, TX.
You’ll be reporting to our lead developer and working with our whole team. We’re all about information marketing so you’ll be working with some of the best in the industry. You’ll be responsible for making sure that our content is delivered to our clients and fast and effectively as possible.
This is a work-from-home position, and you will be expected to work about 20-40 hours a week. We only hire top talent, and have high expectations so if you thrive around intelligent, driven people (and just as importantly, you’re fun and optimistic) then you’ll fit in great here.
Here are some things that we’ll expect of you:
Develop web pages based on set specifications
Test your pages in different browsers supported by tools(e.g. http://crossbrowsertesting.com) and provide a self-test report for each
Coordinate end-to-end tests with Lead Developer and QA team
Run tests on a sequence of pages to check validity of analytics, conversion tracking pixels, etc. and document test results
Review work to find bugs and problems
Reviewing test protocols and improving them
Setting up WordPress installations and WordPress themes
Adapting WordPress themes to our needs
Create and follow a Style Guide to bring consistency to the suite of sites we run
Replicatethe functionality of other sites we send you and reproduce on our own sites.
Convert PSDs to pixel perfect HTML
As for your working personality, we expect that
You deliver very clean, high quality code
You like to keep your edge sharp and keep up to date with technology trends and the fast-moving world of web technologies
You have a broad understanding of how HTML/CSS/jQuery works
You get the Full Stack and can work with your back-end system peers
You’re able to work on tasks with a quick turnaround time
You’re detail-oriented
You’re regularly available during EST/EDT working hours via Skype
and most important, that you actually think about and review what you’ve developed. We’ve worked with far too many developers who send us work that’s full of obvious errors in formatting, artwork placement, spacing, and so on. We don’t expect you to be a mind-reader, but we expect you to have an eye for making things look ‘right’.
