Nomad List wants to propel the remote work revolution.It provides services that try to make the life of digital nomads easier. It helps digital nomads find the best places to live and work, gives them the information to make better travel choices and connects them with other travelers through its community platforms like #nomads and the Digital Nomad Forum.

Position

You will help us build out the platform that future remote workers will use.

You will build new features, refactor and improve old code and connect different sites/platforms together.

You will primarily work on PHP back-end code, shell scripts, administering the NGINX server and manage scheduled workers with crontab (and in the future RabbitMQ). Secondary, you’ll help draft designs of new features in CSS.The code is most important, but if you can also design as well, that’s a great plus.

You will help maintain, update and secure the server, therefore having some DevOps experience is a great plus.

We don’t use any frameworks, just plain code. It’s a very big plus, if you understand conceptually why frameworks can be a bad idea for a large site/app and if you’re able to write great code yourself without them.

You will ship very fast. The time from a new feature idea to shipping is very short. And it’s fine if bugs happen, as long as they’re worked out in the long-term.

This position requires you to have a great comprehension of PHP and JavaScript, and secondary HTML, CSS and basic modern web design principles.
