Join a Leading-Edge R&D Team

This is an opportunity to join EnerNOC’s Utility Solutions division. You could either work in our office in Vancouver or be a member of our distributed team. We build industry-leading web-based clean tech software solutions that help businesses reduce energy consumption through demand response, energy efficiency initiatives, and improved engagement with their energy utility.

Site Reliability Engineers are the primary interface between our developers and our production operations. You will play a vital role in keeping our services fast, available, and growing worldwide. You will work in both the dev and system worlds, instrumenting key parts of the core architecture and supporting developers as they try to do the same. You must be comfortable with programming, primarily in Chef, Ruby, and bash, and will implement monitoring and alerting systems to support site stability and performance. And when the services go down, you will jump in to restore service as quickly as possible.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with developers to design, build, and maintain critical systems.

  • Monitor site stability, performance, and security.

  • Create and improve automation for testing, deployment, scalability, management, and visibility of our services

  • Troubleshoot issues across the entire technology stack.

  • Develop custom tools as necessary.

  • Document system design and procedures.

  • Take part in 24×7 on-call rotation with other team members.
