Are you looking for a part time opportunity to make a significant contribution to the success of a NYC-based startup that is poised for huge success? Simplify is looking to for a seasoned PHP /MySQL Developer to support its NYC-based office. This person will augment a small staff of programmers and designers and will be directly involved with the leadership of the company. The ideal candidate will have experience with financial services and related terminology, primarily in the alternatives space. We are looking for an individual that is a self-starter, extremely motivated, and willing to work both in a team environment, as well as independently as needed. You’re time commitment can be as little as 10 hours to as much as 80 hours a week depending on you.

What you’ll need for this position: • Bachelors Degree or equivalent working experience • 5-7 years experience designing and programming object oriented web-based solutions/programs • Expert knowledge in PHP / MySQL, working knowledge of LAMP stack. • Knowledge of client-side scripting utilizing Javascript (AJAX, jQuery), HTML5, CSS3, XML, Jaspersoft, API Integration • Must be able to prioritize work and meet deadlines • Must be able to shift focus of work rapidly when priorities change

Other useful skills • Experience with distributed/ pod oriented architecture • Have contributed to other PaaS-based projects • Experience with security best practices and methods • Understanding of single and multi-tenant data methodologies • Design experience with both relational and sparse data structures • Some experience with data analytics, inference models, BI and machine learning technology a big plus
