We are looking fora developer to work on this project, on a contract basis: https://github.com/OpenBounds/OpenHuntingData
You will write a set of python scripts and JSON metadata files, which aggregate geodata for hunting, wildlife, and public/private lands. You can look at the Github issues to see the series of steps to work on the project. You’ll work with @jessecrocker, @andrewljohnson, and @wibge on Github, for code review and collaboration.
If you have expertise in open maps and data, consider commenting on an open issue if you have questions about the project. We’ll give priority to candidateswho have previously worked with geographic code/data on Github.
When hiring a contractor, we ask you for your hourly, daily, or weekly rate, and we don’t negotiate with you. We choose the candidatewho can obviously complete the project, and that we think offers a good value based on their cost.
We expect this project to take 1-3 months, andit could lead to steady, similar work.
FYI, we will also start hiring for a full-time developer position in January, more focused on mobile development, and UI/UX (iOS, Android, and web). Overall, we run a CoreOS+Docker+Postgres cluster on AWS, and write native apps and angular.js (and now some react.js).
