The Role:
Bloomberg’s R&D Network Design & Information Security (NDIS) group is responsible for the design, architecture, development and security of Bloomberg’s internal and client-facing global networks, security, and cloud infrastructures. The Core Network WAN Engineering team is the part of the NDIS Core Networks group that is focused on the architecture, development and escalated support of the global WAN infrastructure.
Bloomberg’s private WAN is a sophisticated carrier-grade multi-vendor network that leverages technologies such as MPLS, MPBGP, LDP, RSVP, MVPN, etc. The private WAN currently connects 14,000+ customer sites via 100+ global POP sites using 20,000+ CE network devices and 800+ core network devices.
The Core Network WAN Engineering team is seeking a dynamic, talented and experienced network engineer who thrives on being ‘in the trenches’. The successful candidate must possess extensive programming experience in network automation, provisioning & performance management. The candidate is also expected to possess expert networking knowledge, experience, creativity and capability to work in a complex and fast paced network technology environment. The candidate will work closely with network operation groups to provide technical assistance and guidance. The candidate will also work directly with vendors to drive feature enhancements that are necessary to meet business needs. Ability to drive relevant strategic solutions in a complex environment is highly desirable.
