Gannett, a top 20 digital-media company seeks a Senior iOS Developer to join the USA TODAY/Gannett Digital Mobile team based in Tysons Corner, VA.
Major responsibilities include:
The mobile team is responsible for developing a strategy for delivering best-in-class mobile solutions scalable throughout multiple Gannett companies including USA TODAY. Solutions include in-house and managed vendor approaches and target all mobile devices from both a web-based and native application perspective. All Gannett mobile initiatives are extremely high profile and must utilize state of the art technologies.
Requirements
Specific duties include building native iOS applications using the latest technologies and frameworks, integrating 3rd party SDKs and interacting with internal clients to determine requirements and architecture.
Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline preferred
Minimum 5 years software development experience that includes 2 years of iOS
Strong object-oriented design, programming and debugging skills
Demonstrated experience with Xcode and the iOS SDK is a must
Experience with JSON and client & server side development including consumption of web services
Experience with JavaScript, CSS3 and HTML5 is also a plus
Experience with Git a plus
Strong debugging skills with the ability to reach out and work with peers to solve complex problems
Prior successful experience in media or related industry is desirable
Launched at least one app in the Apple App Store is desired
