This is driven, by the increasing digitalization of information infrastructure and the challenge resulting from big data as well as business and regulatory requirements such as Basel III, IFRS and Solvency II. Resulting business and technological needs make Financial Services a strategic growth market for business standard software vendors like SAP.

The Finance and Risk Data Platform represents one of SAP’s industry-specific high-end products, optimized for SAP HANA, SAP’s super-fast in-memory database technology. Our customers will utilize this platform as the integration cornerstone for their core business data. Consequently, with regards to our largest global customers, high data volume management and the adaptation to SAP HANA’s scale-out capabilities are the key short-term priorities for this platform.

Most of the teams in our Product Development Organization for Financial Services Industry are located in Walldorf (Germany), but we also have teams in the US, India, and China.

All of our teams follow the SCRUM method. Within the teams, we practice a trust-based working model.

As a (senior) developer you will take over accountability for excellent execution of SAP’s HANA strategy. You will be exposed to technologies in the area of big data processing in a scale-out in-memory database architecture. From a content view, banking and insurance business processes such as accounting or financial reporting will be your predominant topics.

Your tasks will depend on the actual backlog of each sprint and comprise the following activities:

• You will work as a developer in an agile cross-functional development team according to SCRUM -You will support roll-in and analyze requirements together with our customers and consulting colleagues in the field -You will contribute to conceptual work within the team on the respective topics -You will design, code and test the new development features in accordance with our Lean Development Model -You will take over software component responsibility to support our customers and future development initiatives in your respective area

You will receive trainings, learning materials and introduction related to our product and the underlying technology. As a fast and experienced learner and with the help of your colleagues in your team you will soon get to know the relevant technological and business knowledge in your focus area.
