Roadtrip Nation is seeking a talented, strategic, and experienced Applications Development Manager!

The Applications Development Manager is responsible for overseeing website application development and architecture to create a unique and exceptional web experience under minimal supervision and direction of the Director of Product. Responsible for the long-range direction of an organization’s technology function. Directs the strategic design, acquisition, management, and implementation of an enterprise-wide technology infrastructure. Maintains technology standards for the organization. Directs the activities necessary to keep the technology infrastructure running seamlessly, efficiently, and effectively while ensuring compliance with established standards and policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the development of our web applications and API.

  • Manage the definition of our system architecture and solutions.

  • Build and manage a team of high performing engineers.

  • Develop, mentor and coach the web development team.

  • Continuously work to improve and enhance software development processes.

  • Successfully define and enforce technical standards for quality, maintainability, scalability, availability and security.

  • Establish annual goals for an engineering team and provide manageable and achievable targets.

  • Evaluate current systems and assess if they are able to meet the needs of the business as we grow.

  • Manage flexible, cross-browser compatible, scalable website functionality

  • Oversee User Interface (UI) design and usability

  • Oversee the development of website functionality for mobile devices

  • Resolve difficult web site technical issues, including technical support

  • Lead and direct the development team to add on, improve, test and debug website issues

  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Back-End/Front-end Web Developers, and Designers
