ADP is hiring a Database Design Engineer III to develop detailed designs for specific solutions in an area of focus, aligned with approved standards. This role is responsible for integrating the designs into the larger ecosystems. Database Design Engineers develop definitions for implementation and test procedures, maintains relationships with vendor partners to ensure they are aware of the product roadmaps, and develops the service specific roadmaps for the development and implementation of the solutions. The Database Design Engineer is results-oriented, has knowledge of new and legacy technologies, has knowledge of the relevant platforms and environments, and be familiar with the business process, functions and data within their domain to provide innovative, insightful and secure solutions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborates with key stakeholders (Product Managers, Architects, Service Managers, Project Managers) to gather and develop requirements. Requirements assessment and solution recommendation that meets business need in alignment with ADP standards and strategic direction.
Participates effectively with Development groups in relevant aspects of software development life cycle (SDLC) including assisting in design, testing, reviews and demonstrations. Collaborate with various teams to do performance analysis, tuning and right structural modification/design.
Creates high level logical and physical designs in the area of focus as input into the Budget and Scope estimate Proposal. Responsible for high level RAS designs.
Develops designs for solutions of focus, including infrastructure specifications, software versions, and configurations.
Participates in design reviews, Provides feedback on product issues to IT Architects, Defines implementation and test procedures, Tier 3 Operations Support.
Responsible for product implementation, integration and testing in Unit and System testing environments.
Participate in project planning and release management. Will manage broader or multiple projects at a time.
Acts as an expert source of technology and application knowledge within their domain.
Research, recommend and introduce new technologies and new uses of existing technologies partnering with IT Architecture Service Management.
Participates in Business planning, IT Strategy and Setting direction from the perspective of Design Engineering.
ISO 9001 and 27001: Review IT Infrastructure & Operations Group Vision Statement, and the Quality and Security Policy periodically. Need to understand group’s commitment to excellent client service, security and continual improvement and conform to these policies and group principles at all times.
