Job Description
Writing code for an open-source blockchain requires a different approach from closed-source commercial software. It is essential to adhere to high-quality coding standards (both for syntax and styling) while producing top-notch, comprehensive unit tests. Extreme care must be taken to reduce the presence of bugs (or undefined behaviors) when crafting solutions. There is also close collaboration with third-party auditors, who will scrutinize the codebase on a regular basis or in the event of a release. As a Senior C++ Engineer in our MainChain team, you will be a key player in implementing the base code of the Horizen blockchain. You will work closely with an international team of specialists in a very stimulating and innovative work environment. You will be the creator of highly-readable and measurably performant software, while adopting methodologies such as Scrum, test-driven development (TDD), and the best programming patterns.

The full software development lifecycle of our core codebase, including design, development, and deployment of foundational software.

Skills and Qualifications
Advanced / expert knowledge of C++ (version 11 or higher).
Sound understanding of Clean Architecture and Repository design patterns.
Sound knowledge of (Object Oriented) OO design.
Intermediate knowledge of blockchain technology.
Experience in developing microservices.
Datastore / database design.
Experience taking products to production and deploying their own code.
Contributions to public, well-known, and verifiable (Open-Source Software) OSS repos.
Proficient written and spoken English. B2 level minimum.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Agile development.
Experience in TDD development.
Experience with Google-Test / Boost Test / Catch2 frameworks.
Knowledge of Python.
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $120,000.00 to USD $180,000.00. Our salary ranges are determined by numerous factors, including, but not limited to, role, level, experience, and location. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position
