THE OPPORTUNITY
Zalando is one of the most exciting environments in Europe for data analysts. Our department works on scalable algorithms, designed to identify patterns in data for almost all departments at Zalando: product recommendations for our website, fraud detection when an order is placed, selecting the best marketing channels for our customers and much more.
We use up-to-date high performance computing and GPU hardware to analyse our huge datasets, meeting the enormous requirements in computing power and speed.
We are looking for you, an experienced and talented software developer, to implement state of the art learning algorithms, as well as statistical models and algorithms. You have a passion for large amounts of data and the necessary experience to analyse this data with parallel programme structures.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Must-haves:
A Master’s degree in IT, mathematics, statistics or another science-oriented subject
Proven experience in scientific programming with CUDA, cuBLAS, cuFFT, cuDNN
Proven experience in close-to-hardware, performance-oriented programming in C, C++, Python, Java
Knowledge of basic machine learning techniques and models
Excellent command of English, e.g. you would feel comfortable conducting an interview in English
Big plus:
Experience with current deep learning techniques
Experience working with high performance databases and SQL
You have already successfully completed some science-oriented HPC projects or cracked some exciting challenges
You have presented your own work at conferences. A love of presenting your ideas is important for this role
