The Internal Systems department develops technology and enterprise-level applications that keep the company running. We build applications and infrastructure that allow our employees to connect and perform their day-to-day jobs. Our applications range from a highly tuned in-house Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to communication and collaboration tools.
The successful candidate will be a motivated, creative and well-rounded application developer with strong communication skills, as we work directly with every part of the organization.

Sales Intelligence (OO Development, SQL)
The Sales Intelligence group builds a metadata driven CRM. Our in-house CRM empowers our sales force, provides insights to enable product growth and helps manage all aspects of the sales cycle. Features include a flexible back-end that allows for dynamic configurations of screens and NLP integration to scrape data.
Communication Tools & Applications (C++)
The Communication Tools & Applications group supports Bloomberg’s Analytics Team in building the Bloomberg HELP HELP platform. This platform enables our 300,000+ clients to connect in real-time with our unparalleled analytics and technical support staff. HELP HELP includes a number of sophisticated components including a high availability distribution system that uses NLP and machine learning to route all incoming phone calls, instant messages and emails.
Network & FIX Infrastructure (C++)
The Network & FIX Infrastructure group develops systems for electronic trading and enterprise transactional feeds for the world’s largest private network, Bloomberg. Our configuration and monitoring systems are distributed across the entire network to collect real-time performance metrics. The algorithms we build optimize network traffic and connectivity for various Bloomberg products.
Security and Compliance (C++ / C#)
The Security and Compliance group builds the Bloomberg terminal’s access control system and trading compliance system. The access control system manages all aspects of security including entry to our facilities and access to the Bloomberg terminal. Our tools ensure that our business and systems can operate at all times, even during power outages or transportation disruptions. The trading compliance system hosts rules of country-specific eligibility requirements for our electronic trading platforms.
Network Applications (C++)
The Network Applications group architects and develops a superior network management system used to design, provision, troubleshoot and monitor the world’s largest private network. We build applications that direct client connections, send traffic from one data center to another, troubleshoot, configure network devices, and deploy and upgrade client appliance software.
Contracts and Exchanges/Contribution Entitlements (C++ / C#)
The Contracts and Exchanges/Contribution Entitlements group develops three main products: Exchanges/3rd Party Entitlements, Enterprise-wide Contracts Management and the Customer Service Web Portal. Our Exchanges/3rd Party Entitlement systems are designed to accommodate a high volume of hits. Bloomberg’s legal department uses the Contracts Management System to fully automate client interaction during contract negotiations and execution. The Customer Service Portal is a web-based interface that provides clients with the tools to manage their suite of Bloomberg products.
Installations and Electronic Trading Integration (C++/SQL)
The Installations and Electronic Trading Integration group builds the configuration management tool that controls much of Bloomberg’s electronic trading platform. We develop the applications that support the infrastructure of Bloomberg’s order enterprise system. These applications are developed for both the Bloomberg terminal and the Bloomberg Professional mobile app.
HR Tools and Applications (C++, Nodejs)
The HR Tools and Applications group builds Bloomberg’s Human Capital Management (HCM) and Business Process Management (BPM) systems. We develop highly available systems that provide an excellent user experience in over 75 countries. Our group uses JavaScript-based UI frameworks, MS SQL Server, Oracle databases, and web services written in C#, C++, Java and Python.
Ticketing Systems (OO Development, SQL)
The Ticketing Systems group ensures that the global company runs smoothly, handling all types of tickets from simple temperature control requests to complex enterprise project management. The group maintains the ticketing application and infrastructure, which includes an intelligent distribution server that guarantees requests are routed to the right people. Additional features include a comprehensive suite of searching and reporting tools, intricate graphical support applications and quality assurance mechanisms.
Global Installs and Customer Support / Special Projects (C++/SQL)
The Technical Operations/Special Projects group works with our Chief Risk and Compliance Office (CRCO) to ensure that we protect the security of clients’ logins and provide platinum customer service. Our tools help clients gain terminal access when traditional means are unavailable. This includes authentication using SMS messages, automated calls and system-generated security questions. The group works with the CRCO to develop solutions to protect the Bloomberg terminal from hacking.
