Back End Engineer (Junior)
£30k | Permanent | Reporting to Engineering Manager
Collectiv Food is looking for a talented Junior Back End engineer to join an exciting, fast-paced team.
Located in White City, West London, you will join a growing, collaborative team that encourages innovation and contribution from everyone.
As part of a multi-disciplinary team you will be using the latest technology to produce scalable services, helping to solve complex problems that will have a real impact on the success of businesses across the foodservice industry. What you’ll be doing
You will be working within an Agile software development team with some of the following technologies; . Net 6.0 (C#), Typescript, AWS Suite; ECS, DynamoDB, Lambda, Elasticsearch, SQS and SNS, creating services that power our revolutionary web and mobile applications.
Crafting reusable code to implement new features and support live products
Ensure unit and automated test coverage is achieved
Optimisation of applications for speed and scalability
Agile/Scrum development, including:
Design reviews and code reviews
Active involvement in refinement and planning sessions
Working well in a team context adapting to and influencing team practices
Contributing to wider business goals, ensuring the availability, security, and scalability of its platforms
Skills and Requirements
Experience with either C#, Javascript or Typescript, or a similar language.
Familiar with principles such as SOLID, TDD, YAGNI and KISS — even better if you practice most of them
Aware of best practices for application lifecycle management (CI/CD, Unit test, monitoring)
Added bonuses (or the cherries on top!)
Experience building online services and APIs
Experience with . Net (C#) or NodeJS (Typescript or Javascript)
Experience working with cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure.
Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, Pulumi).
Familiar with SQL and NoSQL database development
Secure authorisation e.g. OAuth, use of JWT etc.

Stage 1 – 30-minute phone interview with our Engineering Manager
Stage 2 – 1.5 hour technical interview
Final stage – 45 minute interview with VP of Engineering, followed by a 15 minute meet the team, finalised by a 30 minute call with HR.
