Our engineering teams architect, develop and test our social network. As a Backend Developer, you will be responsible for building out the backend of our social network. You will be assuring its quality and running it in a production environment in an interdisciplinary team of different specialists.
As a Backend Developer at InterNations, you will:
develop the backend of our social network as part of the Engineering Team
invest in quality: Tracking time for unit, integration and acceptance testing for both frontend and backend is a given
carry out short iterations in an agile environment with as many releases as possible
need to be able to handle a lot of traffic and a lot of concurrent A/B tests
are invested in LAMP but complement the stack wherever needed
will sooner or later have to read the HTTP standard

You fulfill the following requirements:
you are very familiar with the LAMP stack and speak PHP in an object-oriented dialect – perhaps you have tried (and liked) a functional programming language
you are familiar with modern PHP frameworks like Symfony 2, Zend Framework 2 or Laravel
you like working with huge datasets, be it in a relational database (MySQL), a search service (Solr) or a key-value store (Redis)
you are interested in distributed applications and scalability
you want to learn new things: technology, practices, and user interactions
