The role:

We are looking for a Financial Controller to lead our Accounting team. As Financial Controller, you will oversee our entire accounting and tax functions, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, management of the external audit, tax compliance, as well as the development and operational effectiveness of internal control policies and procedures. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer.

Responsibilities:

Financial reporting

Oversee all accounting activities to include accurate and timely reporting of the Company’s financials in accordance with US GAAP. Oversee and manage accounting team and the month-end and year-end close process

Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements

Design, document, implement and manage policies and procedures with respect to revenue recognition, accounts payable, accounts receivables, payroll, month end close and other accounting operations to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting

Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements

Manage and analyze monthly financial statements and reports to ensure the integrity of the financial statements

Manage the annual external audit process and ensure an efficient audit process and the timely issuance of the Company’s financial statements

Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting

Accounting operations

Lead research on technical accounting issues for compliance, and oversee writing of accounting memos to support the company’s position

Improve, monitor and enforce internal controls, policies and procedures

Review contracts with third parties to ensure that expenses are properly accounted for

Oversee the treasury process and bank management

Tax and regulatory compliance

Oversee the preparation and filing of all tax returns, including federal, state, and local taxes. Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings

Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting, such as registration with Secretary of States

Leadership

Provide strategic financial leadership through close collaboration with the executive team

Supervise and mentor a team of finance and accounting professionals

Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the department

Monitor and assess staff performance and development needs

Why you’re a great fit:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, advanced degree in Accounting preferred

Passed the CPA exam in the United States

Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including a mix of public accounting and private industry experience, and management experience. Big 4, SaaS, venture capital, and/or private equity-backed company experience are preferred

Hands-on experience managing the monthly close process

Demonstrated experience in a fast paced, fast growing technology company, ideally SaaS company

Demonstrated experience in recruiting, developing, training, and mentoring a high performing accounting team

Demonstrated experience in effectively implementing financial systems

Demonstrated experience managing annual audits and all tax-related matters

Proficiency in financial software and systems. Knowledge of Netsuite is a plus

Exceptional Excel skills

Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills

A self-starter with meticulous attention to detail

Base compensation: $180,000 – $200,000. Total compensation for this role also includes incentive stock options and benefits. This compensation range may be adjusted based on actual experience.

$90,000 — $150,000/year
