Software Engineer – Site Experience
The market leader in travel research, is seeking a dynamic, passionate developer for the Site Experience team. This team is focused on building a rich user interface (UI) and experience (UX) In addition, the team is responsible for how user content (reviews, photos, videos) is managed and how users efficiently find the information they are looking for (navigation, auto-complete, and site search). Projects are fast iterated and results are carefully measured, which speaks to the quality of both the engineers and the culture. You Have:
A sense of ownership and take pride in your role.
Experience developing complete Java-based, database-driven applications.
Experience developing multi-threaded, object oriented, and high-scale code powering full stack web applications.
Extensive experience with JavaScript, AJAX, CSS, UI and UX.
Proven success at an Internet startup or early stage company.
It would be great if you had in-depth and hands on knowledge of Linux, and related open source technologies such as Apache, Tomcat, Postgres, Memcached and Hadoop. If not, be prepared to learn them all quickly Very quickly.
Strong interpersonal skills, analytical skills, combined with intellectual curiosity, and a desire and ability to ‘get things done’ are essential requirements
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.
You Will:
Design and build tools, services and infrastructure to support the Site Experience Team.
Design complex systems and participate in the technical solution of projects
Develop, deploy and maintain the consumer-facing features of the website
Work closely with our product and teams to define feature specifications.
