Each Remote Year community has two RY Staff, who serve as leaders and members of the community: a Community Manager and a Operations Manager. Together, these two are ultimately accountable for the experience and success of the program. The Operations Manager is responsible for quarterbacking all logistics related to the program, plays a leading role in professional programming for the group, and is responsible for helping Remote Year build its network and knowledge of cities around the world.
Responsibilities Operations & Logistics: Transform information and logistics from the central ops team into an amazing,perfectly executed on the ground experience for the community Manage and execute travel and city transitions through content generation and logistics planning Effectively communicate all information regarding core product and logistics within the group (email, custom web portal, etc.) Emergency situation management Individual situations (i.e. health, safety) Group situations (i.e. terrorism, political instability, contingency plans, etc.) Professional programming: Create and implement professional development platforms for community members Guest speakers: bring in relevant speakers / groups to interact with the community Networking events: organize and promote major Remote Year networking events in each city Internal skill-sharing: work with community members to facilitate knowledge-sharing within the community Manage and grow knowledge base: play a key role in building external local contacts and partnerships, tracking local vendor performance, and managing our global database across many Remote Year cities
Qualifications: Required: 2+ years of experience in operations, logistics, customer service, or any analytical field Required: Extended travel experience Preferred: experience in tourism and/or working with small companies/teams
