Crystal is on a missionto make communication healthier and more productive, and we’ve started by creating email tools to help people write emails based on anyrecipient’s personality.

As we build and scale Crystal over the next few years, we’re looking at someunique technical challenges that we can really use some help with. This is a huge project in data analysis, NLP, and user experience where the code you write can positively impact thousands of people from your first day on the job.

We’re a very small team right now, and though our numbers will increase with the size of our customer base, we are intent on keeping holding true to the core values that make small groups so effective like:

• True individual ownershipover projects.

• Saying “no” to lots of good things to say “yes” to one great thing.

• Listening to constant feedback from our team and customers.

• Having a healthy approach to velocity and technical debt.

• Taking our work very seriously, but not taking ourselves too seriously.

You’ll be an important member of a small engineering team, with high immediate impact and the ability to touch lots of different projects early on. It will likely evolve after that into something more focused, determined by what you hope to personally achieve what our company needs.

Now for some specifics:

• We work primarily with Javascript (React, jQuery), Ruby on Rails, and PostgreSQL. Our systemruns on AWS.

• We have a lot on our roadmap for the next two years, including improvements to the breadth and accuracy of our personality detection system, Chrome extensions, enterprise tools, and data integrations.

• We rely on a few tools very heavily for communication and workflow – Slack, Github, Trello, Google Apps.

• We love customer support and believe everyone plays a part in user experience.
