We are looking for a Manager, Risk and Compliance to lead Olo’s Payment Facilitator compliance and risk program as well as support corporate compliance and privacy initiatives. This role is critical to mitigating financial crime, fraud, and regulatory risk by performing merchant due diligence, transaction monitoring, and compliance oversight. Reporting to the VP, Deputy General Counsel, Privacy, you will also support corporate compliance frameworks, privacy programs, and Olo’s overall risk management strategy.

What You’ll Do
- Payment Facilitator Compliance and Risk Program:
- Lead the merchant due diligence and underwriting process, ensuring alignment with Olo and its acquirer’s risk appetites
- Conduct daily oversight of merchant activity, leverage transaction monitoring tools to detect, investigate, and report anomalies or high risk transactions
- Conduct ongoing reviews of merchant activity and monitor merchants’ adherence to card network requirements, contractual obligations, and industry best practices
- Serve as a subject matter expert on anti-money laundering, counter-terrorist financing, and other regulatory compliance requirements
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Development teams to maintain and enhance account onboarding, due diligence, and transaction monitoring systems
- Collaborate with Olo’s Learning & Development team to create, maintain, and distribute training materials to educate employees on compliance requirements and expectations
- Ensure proper document and record retention policies are in place and followed, in accordance with various regulations and industry requirements
- Monitor evolving PayFac regulations and industry best practices
- Corporate Compliance and Privacy:
- Support the implementation, management, and enhancement of the privacy and compliance programs
- Assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of corporate policies and procedures to ensure adherence to applicable laws, rules, regulations, and industry standards
- Assist with data mapping, including conducting informational interviews and creating and maintaining records
- Assist with the privacy rights processes
- Serve as subject matter expert and key point of contact for all departments on issues and questions relating to Olo’s risk and compliance policies and procedures
- Proactively monitor and analyze regulatory changes, industry developments, and emerging risks that may impact Olo’s risk profile
- Assist with the implementation, management, and enhancement of Olo’s privacy awareness and compliance training programs
- Collaborate with other legal and compliance subject matter experts to ensure a holistic approach to risk and compliance
What We’ll Expect From You
- 5+ years of risk management experience with a focus on payments
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited institution
- Knowledgeable about AML, BSA, and OFAC
- Broad operational knowledge across a range of risk and compliance disciplines
- Ability to operationalize compliance and privacy laws, regulations, and industry standards, and devise pragmatic solutions
- Experience with due diligence tools (e.g., LexisNexis Risk Narrative)
- Familiarity with state privacy laws (e.g., CCPA) and privacy compliance frameworks
- Aptitude and experience working both collaboratively and with a high degree of autonomy
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills with the ability to communicate with stakeholders across multiple departments and levels
- Ability to proactively manage multiple projects and tasks independently, demonstrating good judgment in prioritization and time management
