1kx is an early-stage venture firm that helps founders launch and bootstrap token networks. We primarily lead seed and series A investment rounds with focus areas across infrastructure, consumer crypto, and middleware. We started in 2018 and have since been building a world-class platform to support our portfolio of 80+ companies, with the goal of being the most founder-friendly and helpful source of capital.
We are looking for an addition to our investment team to help source deal flow, conduct in-depth diligence & research, and support our infrastructure portfolio companies in the evolving crypto landscape.

What you offer
Strong software engineering experience across multiple software stacks. You need to be more of a generalist than a specialist.
Problem solving ability.
Quick learner: use new tools, adopt new development products quickly. Be comfortable using LLMs to quickly learn new aspects of the tech stack.
Experience developing backend applications, ideally distributed systems
Comfortable with 10-20% of DevOps work:
AWS, GCP, Terraform, Linux administration, both in cloud and bare metal.
a slight plus if you have some experience building Web3 applications.
What you’ll do
Work on internal 1kx projects, as well as 1k community contribution projects.
Internal projects include backend and distributed systems, supporting a large portfolio of 1kx investments.
Community contributions include “common good” projects, such as Atlas (atlas.1kx.io/
) and others.Engage with the broad crypto community, build your personal network, and participate in hackathons. A moderate amount of travel is required (several times a year).
Work closely with portfolio projects to understand their infrastructure needs and provide tailored solutions.
