Join a web company working on new technologies that will disrupt the language industryand create innovative services within the translation market. You will work with an international teamthat uses artificial intelligence technology and web information retrieval to help professional translators to be more productive and to provide more efficient services to translation customers through automation and disintermediation. We are looking for a Senior UI Engineerto boost our international team working on the design and development of our web applications using the cutting-edge and innovative technologies.

Work anywhere – Work from our office in Rome or anywhere else, provided you have 4 hours of overlap with the team.

Primary objectives

You will be involved in developing high usability and responsiveness of critical web applications (both dedicated to internal customers and/or publicly available). Such applications must be capable of performing heavy elaboration loads in real time. You will be in charge of the development of stylish, innovative and high performance user interfaces. You will be asked to focus to have great (particular) attention to the design, user experience, functional and performance aspects of this new web application. You will be involved in something that is beyond and is more challenging than implementation of a jquery plugin or the decision of what plugin to use. During first 3 weeks you will be involved in our core operations, in order to understand how the localization industry, and Translated in particular, work. By the 4th week you will be fully involved in the maintenance and engineering of the UI of the web applications.

Skills and Experience

Necessary Experience

• Working remotely
• Deep knowledge of software architectures and best practices
• Writing object-oriented JavaScript
• Javascript / jQuery: deep knowledge. You must be able implement complex features that, in some case, require to force the browsers default behavior.
• ​HTML5, included Server Sent Events, and Websocket programming. Software engineering: you must produce (and be able to reengineering) code at the state of the art of the software design.
• User interface design with focus on user experience.
• Ability to work on open source projects ecosystem.
• Proficiency in using GIT is a must. You must be able to solve conflicts. You must be proficient in Github environment.
• Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment environments
• Test-driven development
• Preference for iterating rapidly

Additional skills

• NodeJS
• RestFUL Web Services
• Knowledge and ability to work in a Linux Environment is a an highly desired plus.
