Remote Year is a program for global professionals, during which we travel for a year with interesting people while working remotely (12 cities, 12 months). With a massive shift toward cloud / remote productivity, and a millennial passion for experiences and travel, Remote Year delivers a year-long work and travel experience.

Role Description The Remote Year Travel team owns all group travel across all Remote Year groups. This includes all flights, ground transport, and sea transport. The role is a balance between strategic work (defining our travel strategy & standards) and tactical execution (booking travel, managing details, etc.).

Responsibilities:

  1. Travel strategy:
  • Determine Remote Year travel strategy: approach to booking travel for RY groups (air, land, sea)
  • Define Remote Year travel standards and norms
  1. Travel management:
  • Select and manage all third party relationships related to Remote Year travel
  • Execute on all Remote Year travel bookings (air, land, sea)
  • Communicate travel details to each Remote Year program in an organized and timely manner
  • Manage and reply to all travel change requests from Remotes directly
  1. Travel team:
  • Build a team to support the long-term travel team vision

Qualifications: 2+ years of consulting, strategy, finance, operations, or logistics experience.

Qualities:

  • Passion for travel / living abroad – an unwavering excitement to spend a year traveling the globe and forming deep local connections
  • Organization skills – great time management skills, ability to multitask
  • Creative problem solving – demonstrated experience creating solutions in a fast-paced environment that is unfamiliar
  • Communications skills – ability to handle multiple, constant communication channels; ability to effectively communicate with program teams and with customers directly
