MortarStone is looking for a full-stack senior web developer who is not only adept at code, but also has the capacity for high level thinking and problem solving. This position will play a key role in the design, implementation and support of services for our partners and customers.

**This position can be anywhere in the US.**Flexible: 20 to 40 hours a week long term

Responsibilities:

  • Develop new and interesting features in Ruby on Rails.

  • Maintain existing application.

  • Testing and bug fixes.

  • Participate in discussions to make our services better.

Qualifications:

  • Strong problem solving skills.

  • Must be able to follow directions and be self motivated.

  • Strong Ruby/Rails skills – 3 years minimum.

  • Unix/Linux administration.

  • Strong knowledge of SQL and databases. PostgreSQL preferred.

  • Experience with Git and GitHub.

Technical Competencies:

  • Possesses strong body of technical and application knowledge.

  • Web Services and API development a strong plus.

  • Experience with AWS services.

  • Experience with Linode or similar service.

Bonus Points

  • Experience with Angular JS.

  • You contribute to open-source tools (gems, libraries, etc).

  • Willing to learn.

  • Your GitHub profile is evidence of your active and ongoing work with the open-source world demonstrates your passion for technology.

  • Have worked with non-profits: volunteered, served on a board, served on Sunday at religious organization or other software development tasks.

  • Have worked for: FellowshipOne, The City, ChurchCommunityBuilder, Shelby, Blackbaud [Raisers Edge] or other Non-profit company.

  • Have experience working in a startup environment.
