DICOM Grid, a SaaS start-up in the healthcare technology field, is looking for a Java and/or Scala developer to maintain and enhance DICOM Grid’s medical image storage system. This is a large-scale custom storage system that manages petabytes of data representing many millions of medical images, based on Java, Scala, and Linux.

Familiarity with development in Java and/or Scala and the JVM environment is essential. Bonus points for experience working with JVM operations, large-scale storage systems, running Linux systems, or working in the medical industry (DICOM, HL7, PACS, etc.). The ideal candidate would be able to work independently with minimal supervision, and be enthusiastic about keeping up-to-date with the latest web technologies.

The team is distributed with team members working remotely in Phoenix, Los Angeles, Boston, and New York.

• This is remote telecommute position, so you must be able to work from home effectively
