Getting to know the Reevoo engineering team…
There’s currently 12 of us in our growing engineering team. We really do have a happy, engaged and social team. We’ve achieved a good team balance of superb technical ability, creativity and process driven characters that make great things happen.
Our tech environment is a Service Oriented Architecture, predominantly comprised of Ruby (pure, Rails and Grape) and JavaScript (pure, Angular and React), sitting on top of 140 AWS servers
We care a lot about producing good quality code that solve the most important problems.
We use an agile development process along with test-driven development and continuous integration and have invested heavily in tools to make this work seamlessly.
We support an architecture that handles 30m unique hits a day and growing.
We believe that knowledge gained is best shared and encourage pairing. To make this work we have the best possible pairing stations and desk arrangements.
We keep an open mind with everything and hold regular retrospectives to take the team pulse and actively pursue making things better.
We encourage open-source software development and coding in the open.
What you’ll do for us?
Design, develop and maintain applications as part of one of our product teams.
Work on a mixture of new development projects and maintain and improve existing applications.
Contribute your ideas with your peers – whether to solve an existing technical problem, improve the architecture, or try out new or improved processes for how the team works.
What skills are we looking for?
A deep knowledge of Ruby.
Experience with API design and software design patterns.
Comfortable working in an Agile team using pairing and test driven development.
A proactive, flexible nature – happy to put your ideas forward and go with the best solution.
A talented communicator with a passion for technology and a love of writing code to make elegant solutions work.

What skills are a bonus?
Search technologies – particularly Elasticsearch.
JavaScript MVC frameworks such as AngularJS and React.
Comfortable with SQL databases – we are running MySQL, Amazon Redshift and PostgreSQL.
RabbitMQ or other broker frameworks.
