About you
You love working at the intersection of form and function, making web apps that do their job and keep users coming back, again and again. You have a passion for excellence in code. Clean, tested code is just as important to you as your app’s functioning and aesthetics. You’re excited at the possibility of working for a small but established startup with big potential, whose customers are among the largest worldwide names in healthcare. You also thrive in a work-from-home environment, and you have a proven track record of delivering your art from the quiet (or not so quiet) of your home, a coffee shop, the park, or whatever floats your Bring Your Own Office boat.
You live, eat, drink, and breathe Javascript. The front end is your happy place, and the one you’ve spent the most time in. You can handle it all by yourself, including architecting, developing, and testing. You have deep experience with a huge variety of Javascript tools and frameworks, which gives you the confidence to make informed technology choices that are in tune with industry trends and Best Practices. And while you prefer living in the front end, you can get by on the backend when necessary.
About us
At Symplur we are connecting the dots in healthcare social media, elevating the patient’s voice. We’ve built a platform called Symplur Signals that promotes a deep understanding of healthcare as seen by patients, doctors and other stakeholders with real-time access to insights from over a billion healthcare social media data points. Our users range from world renowned universities and government agencies to global pharmaceutical companies.
We offer paid healthcare, 100% remote work, and a generous vacation policy. We follow the latest technology trends, and we strive to keep our systems updated and to use the latest and greatest tools. We embrace MySQL, Redis, PHP, Laravel, Docker, Git, and AWS Cloud Hosting, to name a few.
Your Responsibilities
At Symplur, your main task will be to head up our front end development efforts. This means supporting our legacy customer-facing Laravel app while architecting and developing the front ends that will replace it. This will involve integrating numerous Javascript libraries and tools, and helping to be the voice of the user when it comes to UI and UX design. You will have significant sway on the technology choices used. Your work will rely upon the brand-new REST APIs that our backend team is feverishly building. You will work closely with them, helping to define which API services and data points are needed, and being the first real-world consumer of their work.
