Allegory Law is a legal tech startup gaining traction with many of the top law firms and in-house legal departments in the country. We spend 100% of our time growing the business, as we no longer need to raisemoney and are able to support the businesswith revenue. In addition to our direct client relationships, we have deals worth hundreds of thousands of dollars with leading legal services providers. We work closely with our clients to identify the best ways to take Allegory to the next level and have some great momentum. We recently added to our engineering team and are looking for one more.

Allegory is built primarily in Ruby-on Rails. It is a robust, document-heavy application using a PostgreSQL database. OCR is built into our document pipeline. For search, we use Elastic Search. Our main application is cloud-based, hosted on Amazon AWS, but in some cases, we have deployed and will deploy on-prem. We practice test-driven development, using RSpec and a continuous integration server. We also use agile development methods, using Git and Jira for our code and project management.

We are open to full-time, part-time and contract arrangements for this position, but prefer full-time and, in any case, that the candidate intend to work with us long-term.

What you will do as a part of our team:

  • Build out new features based on a roadmap developed based on feedback and ideas from both our clients and our technical team.

  • Participate in quality assurance processes, including integration and system testing.

  • Select, deploy, and monitor performance profiling tools and procedures.

  • Conduct code reviews and follow a specification conformance and testing regimen based on user stories and user experience.

  • Review and approve proposed development releases, and participate in the release process.

  • Maintain and/or supervise application deployment to and performance in integration, staging and production servers.

  • Review and address application failures.

Compensation:We have cash (salary + milestone bonuses) and equity to work with, and believe in rewarding people who help make Allegory successful.
