You’ll be working in the Envato Customer Group in the Conversion Team. The team is working on an initiative to revamp the customer experience and visual design across all Envato marketplaces. We’re working with a modern web stack incorporating React, Redux, Webpack, CSS Modules, Node, and Ruby on Rails.
What you’ll be doing
As a front end developer for Envato you will contribute to the ongoing improvement of architecture, code structure, library choices, development practices and testing techniques.
To be successful in this role, you will ensure all code is well tested and maintainable, implement modular, extensible and performant components, collaborate with product, design and UX, ensure that all front end development works in all browsers and devices that are supported and contribute to the evolution of the front end architecture standards and their implementation. This role requires strong JavaScript, CSS & HTML skills and a strong understanding of the browser environment and front end tooling.
What we’re looking for
Essential Requirements
In depth knowledge of JavaScript, CSS and HTML
Experience working with designers to build responsive websites
Strong familiarity with the front end open source ecosystem, and the ability to make appropriate platform choices for the task at hand
Experience developing maintainable and scalable code in a team of multiple front end developers
Understanding of front end performance considerations
Experience architecting CSS in a maintainable fashion
Experience using CSS pre and post processors
Ability to develop for multiple browsers and multiple devices
Experience developing with progressive enhancement / graceful degradation in mind
Familiar with version control systems and comfortable using Git
Preferred Skills and Experience
Experience working with designers from the inception of a feature to production deployment
Experience building web applications using JavaScript frameworks and libraries
Experience working with React, using ES2016
Experience working with Redux / Flux architectures
Exposure to UX design tools and methodologies
Experience with JavaScript unit and end-to-end testing frameworks and using TDD for front end development
Demonstrable skills in user interface design
Understanding of accessibility requirements
