We own and operate four e-commerce leasing businesses, and we’re hiring a hands-on CTO to focus specifically onDirectBuy. DirectBuy is a savings club that guarantees the best prices on nearly everything for your home and lifestyle.

Members of DirectBuy are able to eliminate retail markups by buying direct from hundreds of top brands in categories such as flooring, appliances, furniture, and more. DirectBuy is building the online Costco, doing $130M+ in sales and profitable.

As our Engineering Manager, you will manage DirectBuy’s 7-person engineering team while still being a hands-on contributor.

Our ideal candidate:

• Is a full-stack engineer with 4+ years of production experience (Python/Django strongly preferred but not required).

• Has at least a BS in either EE or CS, but drop-outs are of course welcome if you have the substance to back it up. Our founder/CEO dropped out of high school, after all.

• Is extremely detail-oriented

• Appreciates performance tradeoffs vs. technical debt

• Is looking to join a kick ass team on a multi-year journey.

Your initial responsibilities include:

• Hiring and retaining 10x engineers.

• Implementing best in class solutions across the application, from ERP (most likely Netsuite) to e-commerce.

• Launching a mobile app with advanced chat, visual search, and AR functionalities.

• Increasing velocity from existing team.
