Working as Understory’s Site Reliability Engineer, you will leverage your technical expertise together with Understory’s unique datastream to revolutionize weather analytics. While you rock this role, you will work alongside incredibly talented, driven team members who deliver disruptive products that bring together custom built hardware, unique data analytics, and user-friendly cloud platforms.

Critical role responsibilities include:

  • Create, augment, and maintain continuous deployment pipelines

  • Minimize downtime of critical infrastructure

  • Scale infrastructure as we scale our business

  • Work with software and data science teams to productionalize applications

  • Develop monitoring tools to understand our infrastructure

If you have at least two years of experience as a site reliability engineer or similar role and are eager to work in an agile and highly collaborative organization that works to bring the most advanced weather data and technology to the market, you’re a great fit for our team!

You’re exactly what we’re looking for if you:

  • Have a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field

  • Have significant experience in Python and Java

  • Have experience with various databases, including Cassandra and PostgreSQL

  • Are an excellent communicator with strong attention to detail

  • Are enthusiastic, disciplined, and comfortable learning and adopting new technologies

  • Have an entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to work in an early-stage company

  • Have strong interpersonal skills
