About the Job
The Azure Data Engineer responsible for helping to select, deploy and manage the systems and infrastructurerequired for a data processing pipeline in support of theproject’s requirements. Primary responsibilities revolvearound DevOps and include implementing ETL (extract,
transform and load) pipelines, monitoring/maintainingdata pipeline performance. The Azure Data Engineer is proficientin distributed computing principles and familiar with keyarchitectures including Lambda and Kappa architectures,and has a broad experience across a set of data stores(e.g., HDFS, Azure Data Lake Store, Azure Blob Storage,Azure SQL Data Warehouse, Apache HBase, Azure
DocumentDB), messaging systems (e.g., Apache Kafka,Azure Event Hubs, Azure IoT Hub) and data processingengines (e.g., Apache Hadoop, Apache Spark, Azure DataLake Analytics, Apache Storm, Azure HDInsight). The idealcandidate has three or more years of experience working
on solutions that collect, process, store and analyze hugevolume of data, fast-moving data or data that hassignificant schema variability.
Qualifications & Skills
BA/BS in operations, computer science, mathematics, statistics, or other technical/quantitative discipline
4+ years of BI development experience using MS-based technologies
3+ years of experience developing models with large and complex datasets
Strong proficiency in DAX, SQL, Excel, Power BI
Excellent problem solving, critical thinking skills, and communication skills
Azure and COSMOS experience highly valued
Machine Learning and statistical modeling preferred
Candidate must be willing to travel domestically monthly for team meetings and training events. Opportunity to work from home (if outside Raleigh area) or relocation if desired. Excellent compensation and benefits package.
