The Work
The Microsoft DevOps Engineer position entails system engineering tasks related to the Microsoft stack, Azure infrastructure and application deployment. The DevOps Engineer is also responsible for strategic infrastructure choices, standard operating procedures and appropriate monitoring and management of Mercury’s cloud infrastructure and our clients’ deployed production applications.
The DevOps Engineerwill be engaged in a range of web and native application development including:
Azure infrastructure solution engineering for JavaScript and NoSQL-focused web and native solutions
Visual Studio Team Services management, pipeline developmentand continuous deployment
Ongoing Application Insights, App Center and application metrics monitoring and resolution
Implement infrastructure for large-scale . NET web applications
Participate in full-stack JavaScript application development including React, React Native and Node. JS
Deploy iOS and Android native applications
Skills & Requirements
The positionrequires a strong background in systems, cloud infrastructure and experience with the Microsoft cloud ecosystem. Mercury’s technical staff possess strong skills in the technologies of their trade and, just as importantly, exhibit maturity in design patterns, architectural best practices and development frameworks. Interpersonal communication, time management and technical excellence are expected of the DevOps Engineer.
Some Specifics
At Mercury you will:
Work with a full team following GitFlow with Visual Studio Team Services-based continuous deployment pipelines
Deploy, maintainand monitorMicrosoft cloud infrastructure (Azure PaaS, IaaS, AAD and Office 365)
Stand up and administer databases(VM-installed SQL Server,PaaS Azure SQL and Azure Cosmos)
Set up and operate automated test infrastructure and runnersincluding technology such as Selenium, Jest and Appium
Implement Microsoft Modern Identity solutions for cloud applications
Write ample amounts of PowerShell
Proficiency and comfort on Agile teams (specifically, Scrum with 2 week sprints) will be a major plus for this position.
