BriteCore is seeking a Software Engineer to join our BritePolicies team. Our team is responsible for modernizing our existing insurance policy administration system to align with BriteCore’s new Gen 3 line of products and to support larger and more diverse insurance carriers.

Responsibilities

• Replace existing system functionality with modern and flexible modular components

• Develop new functionality using Python, Django, JavaScript and Vue.js

• Work with Product Owner to develop solutions that meet client needs

• Work with Architect to develop solutions that iterate on existing software and architecture

• Collaborate with engineers working in both legacy and greenfield development roles

Experience

• 2+ years experience working on web systems utilizing Python and JavaScript

• Experience writing and using REST APIs

• Experience using Git

• Experience writing automated tests

• Computer science degree or equivalent industry knowledge

Requirements

• Empathize with users

• Understand business needs behind system requirements

• Use Git in a project with a large contributor base

• Participate in code reviews both as reviewer and reviewee

• Be a lifelong learner – stay familiar with the latest web development trends
