We’re looking for our first QA Engineer to make our product better, drawing on user empathy to design automated and manual testing that breaks as much as is possible and challenges us to consistently improve. The ideal candidate is creative and aggressive in finding and communicating when our (very high) standards are not met. Your role will be to help ensure our customers have an excellent experience every time they use Amplified.
This is an opportunity to engage with cutting-edge technology and work on a real-world problem at global scale. In addition to competitive compensation and benefits there is also room for the right person to take on increased responsibilities. And it’s a lot of fun (although fast-paced and even chaotic at times) working as part of a small, dynamic team.
Responsibilities:
Understand, review, and help develop specifications and technical design documents in order to provide feedback and contextualise deficiencies
Create comprehensive test plans and test cases
Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities
Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs
Document and carry out manual testing
Design, develop and execute automated testing so we find bugs before our users do
Advise on testing practice with the broader engineering team
Investigate the causes of non-conforming software and effectively communicate reports for triage
Track quality assurance metrics, such as defect densities, open defect counts, and where defects are found in the product cycle
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience in software quality assurance
Experience in software development
Up to date knowledge of automated testing
Technical skills, including data analysis, necessary to identify and triage deficiencies
Familiarity with automated browser-based testing
Experience with building and utilising test environments
A sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the company’s success
Ability to thrive in a remote-first team
