AID:Tech is looking for a Director of Engineering to join our growing team. The successful candidate will champion and lead the building of secure, robust, and high performance systems. AID:Tech is a fast-paced and dynamic environment. We expect the successful candidate to be proactive to take ownership of the role whilst working effectively as part of a team with a collective goal to deliver genuine social impact through our offerings.

Responsibilities

  • Definition and ownership of our engineering strategy and alignment of our engineering teams
  • Technical leadership of geographically dispersed engineering teams
  • Provide team members with the necessary tools and knowledge to perform the role to a high standard
  • Provide leadership to all staff and act as the face of the organisation from a product engineering perspective
  • Reduce ambiguity and harness a culture of excellence, delivery and accountability
  • Improvement of existing processes and implementation of new standards and metrics to enhance engineering functionality
  • Research and development of new and emerging technologies
  • Work closely with Product Management team to advance and enhance on our product vision
  • Drive high performance in the Engineering team, with a focus on Lean and Agile methodologies
  • Ensure consistent release and delivery of products to our customers on time or ahead of proposed schedule
  • Identify areas for efficiencies across our partner and vendor network

Requirements

  • Post graduate qualification in related discipline
  • Minimum of fifteen years’ experience leading engineering teams
  • Background working with geographically dispersed engineering teams
  • Experience developing consumer applications and solutions for enterprise clients
  • Exposure to Identity & Access Management (IAM) solutions, Blockchain and decentralised technologies
  • Experience leading complex change and implementing new process and standards into engineering groups
  • 5+ years at a senior strategic level within a SaaS organization
  • Ability to manage complex budgets and identify further areas for efficiency without sacrificing the integrity of the platform
  • Proven track record in mentoring and improving engineering staff from graduate engineer to Development Manager in HTML, CSS and Javascript.
