As our Backend Engineer, you’ll be responsible for managing the interchange of data between the server and the users. Your primary focus will be the development of all server-side logic, definition, and maintenance of the central database, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the frontend. As if this wasn’t enough, you will also be responsible for integrating the frontend elements built by your coworkers into the application.
- Building and improving backend API and micro-services around various aspects of learning an instrument
- Designing fault-tolerant architecture on AWS to provide an optimal experience to our users
- Ensuring our backend applications are up and running and fix any errors that arise in a timely manner
- Writing code that is easy to read, maintain, test, and follows proven practices
- Working in a cross-functional team, helping to actively shape our product’s future
- At least 3 years of practical experience developing backend applications
- Excellent command of Nodejs and plus points for knowledge of React
- Working knowledge of AWS services
- Good grasp of Postgres, database triggers, and indexes
- Experience in the design and implementation of REST APIs (using Nodejs and Express)
- Working knowledge of Docker containers and microservices
- Experience with continuous integration and delivery as well as test-driven development
- Proactive self-starter with a positive mindset, a desire to learn, and a strong sense of ownership
- Be based within +/- 3 hours from CET
- Frontend, Backend & DB: React, Nodejs, Express, Postgres, Strapi
- Mobile Languages: Kotlin, Swift, C++
- DevOps: Bitrise, Bitbucket Pipelines, Docker
- Cloud: AWS Cloud: CloudWatch, Cloudfront, EC2, RDS, Beanstalk, Lambda, SQS, SNS, S3
