The Head of Sales will be responsible for assuming leadership of the sales function of the Company, developing and executing sales strategies to promote the adoption of Civitech’s tools and to achieve revenue objectives. You’ll be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the sales life cycle, building processes and systems that will scale as the company grows and assuming management of existing Sales managers.

What You Will Do:
Establish and refine Civitech sales processes and systems to scale as the Company grows.
Work in close collaboration with Civitech’s executive leadership team to develop a strategic plan to achieve the Company’s growth objectives.
Manage a growing team of high-performing and passionate Sales and Partnerships Managers, providing them with resources and support to effectively manage all phases of the sales cycle, including prospecting and developing leads, meeting with clients, developing use cases and proposals, financial deal structuring, contract negotiation, and closing.
Collaborate with CEO, COO, and other leadership to raise awareness of Civitech’s software and services in the Democratic and progressive community, cultivate relationships with high-impact individuals and organizations, identify strategic partnership opportunities, draft proposals, and close deals.
Cultivate and assist your team in cultivating strong relationships with a broad range of stakeholders in the progressive ecosystem.
Hire, motivate, coach and provide training to help your team set and manage priorities, maximize productivity, and build skill sets.
Provide support for and participate directly in complex sales opportunities and negotiations.
Cultivate strong cross-functional relationships with Marketing, Client Success, Product, and other teams to boost Sales and company-wide goals overall.
Research accounts, identify key players, and develop outbound lead generation strategies and collateral.
Update and manage pipeline and prepare revenue forecasts.
About You:
8+ years of sales experience in political technology OR sales experience in SaaS and separate political experience. Our ideal candidate has worked in progressive political technology. We will also consider candidates who have both SaaS sales experience and political experience.
3+ years of management experience.
Deep subject matter expertise about the key stakeholders, trends, challenges, and best practices in the progressive political ecosystem and the ability to establish credibility and drive strategic conversations with committees, funders, campaigns, state tables, etc.
Experience developing sales systems in a growing start-up.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to write clearly, quickly, and succinctly.
Strong customer-facing and presentation skills.
You’re self-directed and self-motivated. You know how to be accountable for your own activity and success.
Data-driven approach setting strategic objectives, and tracking progress to goals.

About our Sales and Partnerships Team: The Sales and Partnerships Team is focused on building strong relationships in the Democratic and Progressive ecosystem with organizations that are well-positioned to benefit from our software and services. This means being assertive and creative in establishing new relationships that will last long term and help build revenue for Civitech.
The Head of Sales reports to our Chief Operating Officer. The Head of Sales manages our growing team of Sales Managers.
Civitech is headquartered in Austin, TX, with employees in 14 states across the country. The Head of Sales can work in Austin or remotely in any US location.
Classification, Salary, and Benefits: Full-time, competitive salary ($120,000 – $150,000 for Austin-based candidates, with adjustments up to $175,000 for some major metropolitan areas.)
