Your role

You grow and manage the team of 4-8 engineers, helping them shape their individual careers and grow the team to become self-organized, agile and autonomous
Together with the product owner you define the strategic direction and vision of the team that contributes to delivering a seamless shopping experience for our customers
You contribute/establish the right Engineering practices with the team (e.g. TDD, CI/CD, Agile Methodologies, etc.) to improve quality and time-to-market
Furthermore, you improve our lean and agile engineering practices, processes and productivity by advocating our values and leadership principles
You are part of our engineering leadership team where you work closely with other Engineering Managers, Architects and the Head of Engineering to implement our technical vision
You attract, involve and retain a team of various talents and contribute to the growth of our brand by representing us at meetups, conferences and technical discussions

Requirements

You have several years of hands-on experience in designing and developing high-scalable software products with one or more languages (PHP, NodeJS, Python, React, TypeScript)
At least 2 years of technical leadership and people management experience (eg. proven leader, coach and mentor in agile organizations)
Excellent knowledge of frontend and/or backend development patterns and methodologies as well as the integration of best practices in software engineering and agile methods
Skills in communicating with empathy, influence and inspiration as well as in dealing with and solving conflicts
Experience in balancing business-related and technical requirements and regularly achieve consensus amongst other teams and departments
Passionate about application lifecycle management issues, including software testing, software maintenance, CI / CD, logging, monitoring and release management
Business fluent in English
