About the product designer opportunity

This is an incredible opportunity for someone to come in as an early member of the core team and change the industry standard of recruiting. As the first product designer at Betterleap, you will be involved at every step of product development, from brainstorming ideas to launching new products. You will translate insights uncovered by product and sales teams into concretized, standalone, design-system-friendly MVP prototypes and partner closely with product managers and engineers to scope and ship new versions of our core product.

Recruiter portal – tools, features, and settings to run a recruiting business on Betterleap
Companies portal – modern tools to help companies hire
Betterleap admin tools – tools for the customer support team at Betterleap

You will

Own the end-to-end product design process, from white-boarding to pixel-perfect production-ready assets.
Problem solve, think big, and explore ideas while understanding how to converge and build iteratively towards our vision.
Plan strategically and think tactically as a partner with product and engineering to define the future of the product.
Influence the shape of the product with research and data while executing design work using high quality wireframes, mockups, user journeys, interactive prototypes, etc.
Develop and expand our product design system.

What you’ve accomplished

3+ years of relevant work experience including demonstrated experience in designing visually compelling consumer mobile/web-based interfaces.
Attention to detail and a solid understanding of visual communication
Familiarity with proven and emerging tools for interface design and prototyping, including Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, and good ol’ fashioned pen & paper.
An understanding of modular, grid-based, systems design.
Basic understanding of how designs are implemented by engineers.
Familiarity with the design sprint process and rapid prototyping.
Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
