As our Observability Engineer, you will be responsible for defining, configuring, maintaining, and maximizing the platforms that make Deft’s critical applications and infrastructure visible and investigable. As an experienced Observability Engineer, you will be maximizing the efficiency and effectiveness of our engineering teams through the automation of manual processes.
Deft leverages a number of observability and monitoring tools and is looking to bring on an engineer that will take observability to the next level. You will be applying DevOps principles to manage platforms and help to drive functionality and adoption through continuous improvement, simplification, and automation. You will work on the alignment, optimization, and strategy of observability tools and automation of processes to help deliver the company vision.
Do:
Implement, maintain, and consult on the observability and monitoring framework that supports the needs of multiple internal and external stakeholders.
Manage Monitoring and reporting platforms to support metric delivery and dashboards.
Leverage Ansible and Terraform to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
Manage the Event and Operations Escalation policies in our contact solution.
Align monitoring and reporting to deliver the definition of health on new and deployed products.
Identify, plan, and deliver on opportunities for Automation of processes.
Continue evolving monitoring tooling toward a standards-based self-service automated platform.
What you bring:
Technical knowledge and operational experience with the following:
Log aggregation
Monitoring tools like – LogicMonitor, Nagios, Zabbix, etc…
ServiceNOW
PagerDuty or OpsGenie
Broad experience on platforms such as – Windows, Linux, Azure, or AWS.
Ability to read and write simple integration scripts (Python, Javascript, Ruby, or Go), programs, and config files, as well as complex queries and alert definitions.
Experience defining, creating, and supporting monitoring dashboards.
Experience coding in languages such as Ansible and Terraform.
Comfort working across departments and stakeholders to evangelize and communicate observability expertise and standards.
