About AirDev

AirDev was created to transform how custom software is developed.

For decades, building custom software required knowing a programming language. Today, no-code platforms allow non-technical people to design and build high-quality software products visually, without writing a single line of code.

This matters because it enables us to deliver software to our clients much faster and at a lower cost. We partner with businesses ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies, helping them build products in weeks instead of months—at a fraction of the cost. It also lets us draw from a broader talent pool: sharp, analytical generalists rather than relying only on traditional software developers.

About the Business Analyst role

Our business depends on managing complex interactions between two key groups: clients, who pay us to build custom software for their companies, and no-code developers, whom we pay to build software for our clients’ projects. To coordinate these interactions, we developed a custom web application that acts as our operational command center and connects with external sales and analytics tools. Together, this generates a wealth of operational and financial data that we are still working to fully leverage.

We’re looking for someone who can turn this data into actionable insights that improve our operations, and who can take ownership of client and partner financial transactions.

The role will primarily focus on data analytics within our organization, along with important financial responsibilities including booking, invoicing, and partner payments.

Specifically, you will:

– Provide insights into opportunities for process improvement by analyzing key performance metrics and raw data
– Build database queries and analytics dashboards to make key operational metrics visible across the organization
– Match incoming payments to invoices and develop a follow-up process for overdue invoices
– Manage payments to our global network of freelance partners
– Find ways to improve our booking processes where they don’t align with accounting best practices

What we look for

We value a mix of hard and soft skills, along with alignment to our core values

, in everyone we hire. Specific qualities for this role include:

2+ years of experience in an analytical role: While different backgrounds may be relevant, we’re seeking someone with a proven record of delivering results in a professional environment.
Data analysis skills: This position requires writing queries to access raw data and creating visualizations based on those results, so hands-on experience with SQL and/or a data visualization platform would be a plus.
Interest in financial processes: You don’t need formal accounting experience, but the role includes some bookkeeping responsibilities, so you should be genuinely interested in financial processes and willing to research and learn to close any knowledge gaps.
Strong communication skills: The role will involve working closely with stakeholders across AirDev, so the ideal candidate communicates clearly and in a structured way, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to balance strategy and execution: The ideal candidate can think at a high level (e.g., which metrics should we track?) and also at a detailed level (e.g., which specific field should be included in an SQL query?).
Enjoyment of experimenting and building systems: We prefer lightweight systems that help us manage every part of our work, so the ideal candidate should enjoy tinkering with and improving those systems.
Interest in no-code: Since our work focuses on building custom software without code, enthusiasm for the no-code space will help ensure the role feels rewarding.
Strong organization and a track record of getting things done: You’ll be creating dashboards that other teams use to make decisions, as well as managing key payment and cash-flow processes. The ideal candidate handles tasks efficiently and on time while staying highly detail-oriented.
Enjoyment of intellectual and creative problem-solving: Our company operates in a unique way within the industry, so the ideal candidate should be able to solve challenges through creative and unconventional approaches.
